McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton has won the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday, September 27,2009 while Brawn GP driver Jenson Button extended his Formula One championship lead by only 1-point.

Hamilton has started from pole and he protected his lead to finish a 9.6 seconds ahead of Glock. Fernando Alonso accommodated some good news for scandal-hit Renault by finishing 3rd for the team’s 1st podium finish of the season.

Vettel finished 4th after his race was wreck by a pit lane speeding penalty. Button had qualified in 12th, was fifth, one place ahead of teammate and championship rival Barrichello. Button leads the championship by fifteen points ahead of Barrichello with 3 races to go.

Mark Webber exited on lap 45 after a brake flop that keep him spinning off on the race track. Webber had been running in 4th in the early part of the race.

McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen was 7th and BMW Sauber’s Kubica was in 8th place.

Hamilton’s only headache came early in the race when his KERS power-boost system failed, but after a few laps without it, the problem was soon rectified.

Nico Rosberg was running at 2nd through the 1st stint of the race, but he crossed the pit-lane exit lane on his way out after his 1st stop over, and he had to serve a drive-through penalty that cost him a chance of any points. He finished at 11th.
