PS3 Network Down : Sony PS3 Error Updates on Twitter March 1, 2010. Sony’s PlayStation Network experienced a problem that garbled its trophy sync process, which sounds harmless at first blush. You don’t need trophies synchronized to actually play a game.
It’s unclear exactly what’s going on at the moment, but it appears that the PlayStation Network is down and causing a whole host of related problems for PS3 systems, including 8001050F error codes, game crashes, corrupted trophy info, and even the complete inability to launch certain titles.
According to The Examiner, Sony tech support says both trophy and savegame data should be fine, and that a fix should be up ‘by morning’ (US time zones).

Google Broadband Fiber Network to Launch Soon Q2 : Google to Tests Ultra High Speed Broadband Network. Google is planning to build, and test ultra-high speed broadband networks in a small number of trial locations across the country. We’ll deliver Internet speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have access to today with 1 gigabit per second, fiber-to-the-home connections. We’ll offer service at a competitive price to at least 50,000, and potentially up to 500,000 people.
“Our goal is to experiment with new ways to help make internet access better and faster for everyone,” said product managers Minnie Ingersoll and James Kelly on the company’s blog.
“Network providers are making real progress to expand and improve high-speed internet access, but there’s still more to be done. We don’t think we have all the answers — but through our trial, we hope to make a meaningful contribution to the shared goal of delivering faster and better internet for everyone.”

What happens when the horse stable is complete? It will work much like the chicken coops and dairy farms that will fill it with 20 horses and then harvest them every 24 hours for big bucks. Only one stable will be allowed per farm, and it will hold brown and gray horses, as well as the new purchasable Pinto Horse.

iPhone OS 3.1.3 Update Released and ready for Download via iTunes. Apple has released an update for the iPhone 3Gs OS, bringing the current version of the SDK to 3.1.3.
The shift is no big surprise — analysts have been expecting the iPhone to begin losing its stronghold to Android for some time now. According to Apple, the iPhone OS 3.1.3 update contains important bug fixes and security patches.
Apple has fixed five critical flaws in the OS software for the iPhone and iPod Touch, with the newly-released iPhone OS 3.1.3 update.
CoreAudio (CVE-2010-0036)—Due to a buffer overflow, playing a malicious MP4 audio file could lead to unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution.
ImageIO (CVE-2009-2285)—A buffer underflow in ImageIO could allow a malicious TIFF image to crash the system or execute arbitrary code.
Recovery Mode (CVE-2010-0038)—Due to an error in handling certain USB control messages, a person with physical access to the device could access its data.
WebKit (CVE-2009-3384)—There are multiple vulnerabilities in WebKit’s handling of FTP directory listings. A malicious FTP server could cause information disclosure, unexpected application termination, or execution of arbitrary code.

Watch Apple’s Tablet Launch Event and Live Coverage January 27, 2010. Apple CEO Steve Jobs is expected to unveil the most highly anticipated electronic device ever. An Hours ahead of Apple’s top secret product launch of what’s believed to be its revolutionary tablet computer. Steve Jobs says that the device will cost $599, $699, or $799 “depending on size and memory.”
The tablet PC will feature a wireless keyboard. Apple Tablet features an OLED screen also include a thumb-pad for Magic Mouse-like gestures, a fingerprint-reader with up to five profiles, and support Verizon and AT&T networks.
The tablet will supposedly have a persistent 3G connection similar to the Kindle, but there isn’t a firm consensus on whether or not the device will have Wi-Fi, a camera, or Webcam. But you know, I just can’t help thinking that the closer we get to Apple’s event, the more the tablet sounds like it’s going to be a glorified iPod Touch.
